Wiz n Liz Amiga & Mega Drive Review

Wiz ‘n’ Liz – Wabbits of Fun

Wiz ‘n’ Liz on the Mega Drive & Amiga

From the creators of Lemmings and Shadow of the Beast, Wiz ‘n’ Liz was a fast-paced platformer where you played the role of one of two wizards. Released on both the Megadrive and Amiga this game was perfectly simple and addictive.

When a magic spell goes wrong all of the “wabbits” in the world get dragged into eight different levels. Each level has a great soundtrack and all have a cool style to them, typical of Psygnosis.

Wiz ‘n’ Liz Multiple Game Modes

With 3 different game modes, you play as Wiz or Liz. I quickly fired up my Amiga last night to play this. Within 10 minutes I had completed Apprentice Mode and quickly moved on to Wizard. You are up against the clock to collect wabbits by running over them… yeah sprinting over a wabbit makes it pop and they drop different letters that form a magic word that opens the exit to the level.

Once all the magic word is spelt out you can quickly run around and collect the remainder wabbits to gain fruit/vegetables to make potions in a big cauldron. Each combination created with these have different effects; from extra points, time, mini-games or even the odd random effect like red wabbits.

Wiz ‘n’ Liz Worth a Try

Ok if you have not played this game, this quick summary does not do it justice. It might sound random and simple but this game is highly addictive. I found myself playing this for an hour before I even realised and the boss battles at the end of each mode make you want to play through all 3.
