Konami’s public reputation may have dwindled somewhat in recent years, but thanks to Hideo Kojima, they’ll forever be remembered for Metal Gear Solid. Many of us have fond memories of playing through the first MGS game and why wouldn’t we? It’s a beloved PS1 classic!
Looking back at Metal Gear Solid now, there’s no denying that the graphics have aged. For many people today, the way games look is just as important as the mechanics and story are. A Brief Look at Metal Gear
Metal Gear Solid was released in 1998 and published by Konami. It was directed, written and produced by the legendary Hideo Kojima. Set in the year 2005, you play as Solid Snake. Snake has been tasked with protecting the U.S Government by disabling Metal Gear REX, a mechanical beast capable of deploying nuclear missiles.
This legendary action-adventure stealth game received critical acclaim upon launch and has a Metacritic rating of 94/100. This reception would lead the development team on to create a barrage of new games set in the Metal Gear universe. Games within the Metal Gear Solid series include –
