A Brief Look at Metal Gear

Metal Gear Solid was released in 1998 and published by Konami. It was directed, written and produced by the legendary Hideo Kojima. Set in the year 2005, you play as Solid Snake. Snake has been tasked with protecting the U.S Government by disabling Metal Gear REX, a mechanical beast capable of deploying nuclear missiles.

This legendary action-adventure stealth game received critical acclaim upon launch and has a Metacritic rating of 94/100. This reception would lead the development team on to create a barrage of new games set in the Metal Gear universe. Games within the Metal Gear Solid series include –

  • MGS 2: Sons of Liberty
  • MGS 3: Snake Eater
  • MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots
